"Visiting a Permaculture System",
a field trip to Dwight Sands Permaculture homestead in Brown County, Indiana (transportation provided). If a picture is worth a thousand words, then experiencing a permaculture designed system will make these principals crystal clear. ***Bring lunch & beverage. Fee: $25.00. Pre-registration required.

This "NATURE AND ME SERIES" with Beth Ernst-Major and S. Ann Marie Quinn. These nature-based activities are designed for children ages birth to three and their adult caregiver.
Fee:
$20.00/series. Pre-registration required.

"VERMI-COMPOSTING AT HOME" with Sue Magness, Education Specialist from Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District and S. Ann Marie Quinn, Program Director/Educator Michaela Farm. Vermicomposting is a system for turning food waste into a soil amendment with the help of worms. This workshop is designed for the whole family to work and learn together.
Fee:
$60.00 per family. Participants receive Worms Eat My Garbage, handouts, one pound of red wigglers (Eisenia-fetida), a cultivator, worm bin and tray. Pre-registration required.

 
Michaela Farm, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis, is located in Oldenburg, Indiana on SR 229 just north of the town.
