The Whitewater - Miami Walk will start concurrently in Wayne and Preble Counties on September 23, 2007.  Union County walkers will begin on September 25 and join other walkers in Franklin County on September 27th.  All walkers on the Indiana side will meet up with walkers from the Ohio side on September 29th in Harrison Ohio.  Together walkers will follow the path of the Whitewater Canal from Harrison to Elizabethtown, Ohio.  At Elizabethtown walkers again split, Ohio walkers following the east fork of the Whitewater Canal through Cleves and onto Northbend and the Ohio River.  Indiana walkers will follow the west fork of the Whitewater Canal to Lawrenceburg and end at the Ohio River.

Raising Funds for the Whitewater - Miami Walk

Raising funds for the Whitewater - Miami Walk is done in three ways.

1)  Corporate Sponsorship  Corporate Sponsorships are $200.00.  The business's name is then put on the back of the t-shirts worn by the walkers.  Also, whenever possible, mention is given to those sponsors in press releases, news conferences, and radio shows.  One t-shirt is given to every sponsor.

2)   Registration Fee   Every walker must register to walk.  The fee is $20.00.  Each registered walker receives a T-shirt.

3)   Pledges  Walkers collect pledges for their participation in the walk.  If they raise $50.00 or more in pledges their registration fee is waived.
